Implementers EOS

Raise the Bar resizedAt our last quarterly meeting with our team of EOS Implementers, my partner, Don Tinney, shared a very inspirational message about mastery. He shared a quote from a very powerful documentary, Jiro Dreams of Sushi.

It’s a movie about Jiro, the owner of a sushi restaurant in Japan. It’s truly worth watching if you obsess about building something great and mastering your craft. As stated in the film, it can be argued that Jiro’s nine-seat restaurant is the most expensive in the world, with dishes starting at 30,000 yen (US$329).

Jiro only serves sushi. Some people travel great distances and reserve their seat as much as a year in advance to eat for 15 to 30 minutes in Jiro’s restaurant.

Here’s the quote. Jiro says his methods are no big secret: “It’s all about doing the same thing every day.” He says, “Once you decide on your occupation, you must immerse yourself in your work. You have to fall in love with your work. Never complain about your job. You must dedicate your life to mastering your skill. That’s the secret of success and the key to being regarded honorably.”

Is your company the best in your industry? Or at least striving to be? If you’re not growing, you’re dying.
